New Projects
R.C. School
Preliminary report from William Klingelhofer for R.C. School
I think it makes good sense as Christine has suggested to start with one grade for renovation, class 6. The entryway to this area (pictured) needs paint, lighting, and to have the floor re-leveled for good drainage. The three classrooms (2 measuring approx. 18 x 21 ft, the 3rd measuring approx. 18x25 ft.) comprising this grade all need;
1) to have their floors tiled (better than carpeting for longevity – be nice to provide mats),
2) new lighting and wiring as required (approx. 2-4 per room, overhead fixtures and wall tubes),
3) walls and ceilings painted (by students),
4) window repairs, and
5) woodwork painted.
The narrow alley leading to classroom 6c should be paved, the walls painted a bright color, roof and ground drainage on the rear of the building near the entrance to classroom 6c needs to be checked and repaired and modified as necessary.
The main multi-purpose building had most of its windows broken, creating a very depressed air to the school. Broken panes should be replaced by shatter resistant plexi, or glass protected by wire mesh on the outside. The stage area in this room also desperately needs repair. |
