"Eco-Watch"@ Auroville / Pondicherry

Objectives:
The specific objectives of the field trip are:
 
To work with fishing communities
 
To study the effect of the Tsunami and how it caused   
damage to the environment.
 
To work in the nursery and kitchen garden
 
To assist in planting activities alongside locals, as part of
ecological restoration
 
To see how planting of trees and building contour bunds  
have changed the ecology of Auroville within a generation
 
To learn how the use of appropriate technology can make a
community self-sufficient in energy.
 
To introspect as to one's own use of resources, and to
appreciate how every individual can make a difference to 
the environment.
